RETURNING FROM MAT LEAVE June 5 2023

Rachel was a nationally-ranked rhythmic gymnast for nine years, competing all over Canada and the world, during which she accumulated enough aches and pains herself to become a regular patient in both physiotherapy and chiropractic offices. This is what then prompted her to study for her Bachelors Degree in Human Kinetics and her Masters Degree in Physical Therapy.

She believes in finding the cause of an injury, and using a combination of manual therapy, soft tissue techniques, dry needling and exercise in order to solve the problem. The goal is that you understand what is happening and why we are doing what we are doing in every physio session. That way every exercise that you do and self-management strategy taught will make sense and help you recover even quicker.

Since graduating, she has continued to pursue further learning to help her patients by completing her acupuncture and dry needling certification, as well as taking courses in visceral and neural manipulation from the Barral Institute, orthopaedics, and the Mulligan technique. She has also been heavily involved in Special Olympics Rhythmic Gymnastics, teaching both athletes and coaches for the last 12 years.

Since moving back to Vancouver from Fort St. John, she is happy to return to good food, mountains and rain!
